Students receive over $150 of materials including a manual, resource notebook and lactation teaching supplies. The CLE® course can function as a stand alone training for contact hours, professional development, personal growth, doula requirements, IBLCE L-Cerps (21.25), BFHI preparation and peer counselor training. Many Certified Lactation Educators use the credential in their private practice. The credential is also used as a stepping stone credential for anyone aspiring to become an IBCLC.

The CLE® program is not a Lactation Consultant Course and Certified Lactation Educators™ do not provide clinical assessments. The important scope of practice for a CLE® is to provide education, support and appropriate referrals to individuals and groups. CAPPA CLE®s secure employment in a variety of settings. Many teach classes in hospitals, WIC clinics, community programs and private practice. Attendees can also facilitate breastfeeding support groups or work as breast pump rental technicians or in breastfeeding supply stores.
Nurses, NCS, Doulas and Midwives often attend the course to ensure they are providing the highest quality care and compliment the the services they already provide. The opportunities are endless! Several CLE®s have used this credential as a stepping stone to achieve the IBCLC Certification.. Students who complete the training are invited to apply to become LUVS and earn clinical hours for the IBCLC direct-service hour prerequisite. Credits The CLE® training is an exceptional value. Students are awarded 21.25 L-Cerps by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners #C1771433 and 24 CAPPA Contact Hours. Registered Dietitians: should maintain a copy of the agenda and certificate of attendance for CPEs for your Professional Development Portfolio. Curriculum approved by Lactation Education. 24 BRNs are available for an additional $15. Nurses will complete a form and submit it, along with the course evaluation to receive the CEUs.
