Christy Jo Hendricks

Christy Jo Hendricks is an international speaker, educator, inventor, and author recognized for transforming how lactation and perinatal education is taught. As the Founder and CEO of Lactation University, she leads a globally recognized, LEAARC-endorsed program designed to prepare and mentor the next generation of Certified Lactation Professionals and IBCLCs.
With 15 years as a high school teacher and 22 years in public health, Christy Jo brings a rare blend of educational expertise, clinical insight, and community impact to her work. Her teaching is known for simplifying complex concepts, engaging diverse audiences, and building confidence in both professionals and families.

​A pioneer in the field, she developed an original IBCLC Prep Course in 2010—one of the first LEAARC-endorsed programs of its kind—which has been used to prepare hundreds of successful lactation consultants. Through Lactation University, she continues to innovate lactation education with a comprehensive, mentorship-driven model that goes beyond exam preparation to develop clinically skilled, confident leaders.
