Course Description: This 5-hour comprehensive communication course is designed to enhance the essential communication skills required for lactation consultants and other healthcare professionals involved in breastfeeding care.

Grounded in the IBCLC Detailed Content Outline, the course emphasizes the importance of understanding clients' needs, active listening, and providing emotional support. Participants will learn strategies for developing an appropriate plan of care using Motivational Interviewing, assisting clients in making informed decisions, anticipating educational needs, and fostering a supportive environment.

The curriculum includes practical exercises, role-playing scenarios, and building interpersonal relationships with families.

​While the primary focus is on lactation and breastfeeding care, the principles taught are universally applicable, making this course valuable for any healthcare provider aiming to improve their communication abilities.

  • I understand that I will need to pass a post test on September 18 in order to receive my LU Communication Certificate.
  • I understand that I may not record the training workshop (audio or video), or take photographs of the slides without the express permission of the faculty.

    • Collect my name, address, phone number, and email address for the trainee class list and email list.
    • Take screenshots of the training which may include me, which may be used for promotional purposes online and in print. ·
    • Use quotes from my training evaluations (which I may fill out anonymously) for promotional purposes online and in print.

Details of Refund Policy:
I understand that there are no refunds for classes but I can transfer to another course with Lactation University or Birthing, Bonding & Breastfeeding within 12 months of the original course date with approval from Birthing, Bonding & Breastfeeding. A $20 transfer fee applies. If the class is cancelled by Christy Jo, attendees have the option of receiving a full refund or transferring to another training with Christy Jo. Certificate of training completion is given only if the entire training is attended, I have read the above statement and agree to the terms listed
